Apartment Hotspots in 2018 and 2019
Research commissioned by Strata Plus has completed forecasts on unit development for 2018. The trends are interesting.
We track approvals and completions – approvals will provide an indication of where the market is heading over 2019 as well.
Parramatta is already topping the completion forecasts for 2018 and looks like it will continue through to 2019. Interesting, it looks like the suspension of planning proposals in Ryde are having an impact with Canterbury-Bankstown and Cumberland expected to contribute more to completed stock than Ryde over the coming year.
From the results, it appears that Sutherland, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, and Blacktown will see their shares of the apartment market grow while Ryde, Bayside, and Willoughby will see their shares drop. Parramatta, Sydney, the Hills, and Randwick should continue to maintain their market shares in a falling market.
