Section 258 of the Strata Schemes Management Act 2015 requires owners or agents to provide lease or sub-lease details to the owners corporation within 14 days of commencement of the lease.
As a property owner, you must give your tenants a copy of the building's by-laws within 14 days after they move in. If the by-laws change, you need to provide the updated version within 14 days of the changes. Your real estate agent can handle this if you use one. Failure to provide these documents can result in penalties.
You can easily find your building's by-laws on the My Property Portal. If you need assistance accessing them, please contact Strata Plus.
Note: If your real estate agent has already provided the by-laws under residential tenancy requirements, you don't need to provide another copy.
